Meghan Elizabeth Trainor is an American singer and songwriter. Trainor’s efforts have been recognized with several awards and nominations, including a Golden Globe Award, the Music Business Association’s Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award along with two Billboard Music Awards.
Trainor felt interested in music from an early age, writing, recording, performing and producing three albums that were released independently when she was 15 to 17 years old. In 2011, she signed a publishing deal with Big Yellow Dog Music, and pursued a career in songwriting. After signing a recording contract with Epic Records in 2014, Trainor rose to fame with the release of her debut studio album, Title (2015). The album debuted at the top of the US Billboard 200 chart, sold over 1 million copies domestically, and spawned three top 10 singles: “All About That Bass”, “Lips Are Movin” and “Like I’m Gonna Lose You”.
In 2016, Trainor won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist. Her second album, Thank You, was released in 2016, preceded by its first single, “No”, which peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2017, Trainor released single “I’m a Lady”, appeared in the animated film Smurfs: The Lost Village.
Strongly influenced by the music of the 50s and 60s era, Trainor’s music has been noted for its retro aesthetic. The main themes of her lyrics include themes of modern womanhood, body image and empowerment.
She had voice roles in the animated films Smurfs: The Lost Village (2017) and Playmobil: The Movie (2019), and served as a judge on the television talent show The Four: Battle for Stardom (2018). ) and currently on The Voice UK (2020). Trainor’s awards include a Grammy Award, four ASCAP Pop Music Awards, and two Billboard Music Awards.
The Timeless Tour is the upcoming fourth headlining concert tour by American singer-songwriter Meghan Trainor. It will be launched in support of her sixth major-label studio album Timeless (2024), and will consist of concerts all across North America. The tour was announced in March 2024, with dates being released at the same time. It will begin on September 4, 2024, in Cincinnati and it will conclude in Inglewood on October 19, 2024, comprising 24 shows. Natasha Bedingfield, Chris Olsen, Paul Russell and Ryan Trainor will serve as opening acts.
On March 14, 2024, Trainor announced a 24-date North American tour, titled The Timeless Tour. The Timeless Tour is Trainor’s fourth concert tour, and follows her third tour, The Untouchable Tour, which she embarked on in 2016, in support of her sophomore studio album Thank You. This marks Trainor’s tour return after seven years of absence.
