Kali Uchis, born Karly-Marina Loaiza on July 17, 1993, is a Colombian-American singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress. Known for her soulful and genre-blending music, Kali Uchis has gained recognition for her unique style, which seamlessly incorporates elements of R&B, reggae, doo-wop, and pop.

Born in Alexandria, Virginia, to Colombian parents, Kali Uchis began her musical journey at a young age. Her stage name, “Uchis”, is a variation of her last name, and “Kali” is derived from the Hindu goddess of time and empowerment.
