American Dream Tour Of JID And 21 Savage
21 Savage is hitting the road. On the heels of taking over Saturday Night Live last weekend and his American Dream album, the U.K.-born and Atlanta-bred rapper has announced the 2024 American Dream Tour.
Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph headlining trek will run through 30 cities across North America and begins north of the border at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, B.C. on May 1. JID, Nardo Wick and 21 Lil Harold are slated to provide opening support on the tour.
21 Savage spent a majority of 2023 on the road as support on Drake’s It’s All A Blur Tour and then headed back home to the U.K. for his first-ever performance in his birth country after resolving long-running immigration issues to close out his busy year. Last month, 21 scored his fourth No. 1 album atop the Billboard 200 with American Dream, which earned 133,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in the week ending Jan. 18, according to Luminate.
He also made waves with a couple of historic performances on national TV including his joint set with Burna Boy and Brandy at the 66th Grammy Awards and his recent appearance on Saturday Night Live.
His tour mates have also had plenty of success over the past few months especially JID. He’s currently celebrating a new milestone after his viral song “Surround Sound” featuring 21 Savage and Baby Tate hit the top spot on the Rhythmic Radio this week. The song stems from his 2022 album The Forever Story.
JID, whose real name is Destin Choice Route, hails from Atlanta, Georgia, the same city that nurtured 21 Savage’s rise to prominence. Despite their shared geographical roots, their musical backgrounds and styles diverge in compelling ways. JID is celebrated for his rapid-fire delivery and complex rhyme schemes, often weaving intricate wordplay into his verses.
