The Milwaukee Bucks are an American professional basketball team based in Milwaukee. The Bucks compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league’s Eastern Conference Central Division.
The team was founded in 1968 as an expansion team and played at Fiserv Forum. Former U.S. Senator Herb Kohl was the team’s longtime owner, but on April 16, 2014, a group led by billionaire hedge fund managers Wes Edens and Marc Lasry agreed to purchase a portion of the team.
Big gain in the team from Kohl’s, an acquisition. was approved by the NBA’s owners and its Board of Governors a month later on May 16. The team is managed by Jon Horst, the team’s former director of basketball operations, who took over from John Hammond. The Bucks have won two league championships (1971, 2021), three conference championships (West: 1971, 1974, East: 2021) and 16 championships (1971–1974, 1976, 1980–1986 , 2001, 2019–2021).
They have notable players such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Oscar Robertson, Bob Dandridge, Sidney Moncrief, Bob Lanier, Glenn Robinson, Ray Allen, Khris Middleton, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jrue Holiday among others. Abdul-Jabbar and Antetokounmpo were named NBA Most Valuable Players while playing for the Bucks, with a total of five MVP awards.
Both are the only players to win Finals MVP for the franchise. The Bucks are also the only team to have won both conferences. It can be said that coach Doc Rivers’ reign at Milwaukee Bucks is not going smoothly. In the first 10 matches, Milwaukee Bucks lost 7 times before the All-Star break. They lost to the Miami Heat without Jimmy Butler, and even lost to the second team of the Memphis Grizzlies.
Most recently, Milwaukee Bucks temporarily regained their image with 6 wins. However, when they clashed with the Golden State Warriors, who played poorly and just suffered a 52-point defeat to the Boston Celtics, the Milwaukee Bucks still “showed off” when they suffered a 90-125 loss to the “Golden Gate Bridge Warriors”. Undeniably, coach Doc Rivers has done many things since taking over the Milwaukee Bucks. However, this team is still unstable and is not highly appreciated in the race to the championship.
